Because of gopher problems, all plants needed to be put into custom-made wire baskets to protect the roots. For weed prevention, careful preparation during installation was essential. Preparation included: organic pre-emergent herbicide and the use of weed fabric throughout. (Note the weed fabric ontop of the soon-to-be pathway).
